"Marked"...This cow hit a fence and there is a dent about 8 inches off the buckle end...please see second photo....priced reduced...though this really tells a story and I like it!
Handmade very high quality full grain leather belt, with a made in Walsall, England, solid brass cast buckle, oval holes for strength, hand rounded edges for supreme comfort, and traditional hand hammered traditional saddlers copper rivets to secure the buckle. The leather for this belt comes from the last remaining oak bark tannery in the world.
Oak bark tannage is a long, gentle process that protects the natural fibres of the hide. Expert curriers finish the leather by hand with a special blend of natural oils and greases that protect and feed the leather whilst simultaneously emphasising the natural grain and colour. The result is leather that is unrivalled; hardwearing, strong and with a distinctive colour.
This leather is hand dyed at the tannery, and will show all the natural characteristics of the hide, including veining and strikes....reflecting the animals life....it really is 'leather as it used to be' and is said to be 'the finest in the world', and is used by the most exclusive leather workers in the world.Sent in a presentation box, and tissue wrapped.
Choosing your belt size:
This belt is sized to a 36 inch trouser size.
Trouser sizes are usually about 4 inches less than the necessary belt length, but it can vary slightly by country and even by shop, so the best way of getting your size just right is to measure one of your existing belts.
- Measure from the very end of your buckle to the hole that you like best....see the diagram above for an example; and if that measurement is around 40" this belt will fit perfectly.
- This belt has extra holes to allow adjustment plus or minus 3 inches of the stated size, so there is plenty of adjustment either way.
